Capabilities

GNDT operates a suite of highly specialised test equipment, including industrial radiography and processing facilities. It also has small portable test equipment which is available for ultrasonics, eddy current, magnetic particle and penetrant inspection services.

Our current range of services and equipment include the following.

Radiography

Radiography of butt welded joints in process piping, pressure piping, pressure vessels and structural steel using conventional film techniques.

Ultrasonics

Ultrasonic inspection of butt welded joints in process piping, pressure piping, pressure vessels and structural steel. Inspection of in-situ bolts, shafts and newly manufactured pins. Inspection of plate and pipe for laminations. New and in-service white metal bearing surfaces. General thickness surveys. Examination of alumothermic welds in rail.

Magnetic Particle

Magnetic particle inspection using AC magnetic flow off, welds in process piping, pressure piping ,pressure vessels and structural steel. MPI of bolts, pins and shafts and drill tools.

Liquid Penetrant Inspection

Liquid penetrant Inspection of welds using the water washable method for process piping, pressure piping, pressure vessels and structural steel. LP of bolts, pins and shafts.

Eddy Current

Eddy Current examination of welds on structural steel and cranes. Coating thickness of non ferrous coatings.

Heat Treatment

Localised heat treatment of welds and structures.
